Wish List Wednesday: A day at the Ballpark

I guess watching The Sandlot has left me wanting more baseball in my life because all of the things on my list today would be perfect for a day at the ballpark. 

I love this Baseball T by Judith March. As far as I can tell it's totally sold out :(

Indoor S'mores Tasty Tuesday

I watched the movie The Sandlot the other day. One of my favorite scenes is the s'more scene. 

It seems like every time I make a s'more, someone quotes this movie. This scene inspired this weeks Tasty Tuesday. It has been too cold to be outside much lately, so we made Indoor S'mores. 

Ingredients: 

3/4 cup light corn syrup 

3 tbs. margarine or butter

1 package milk chocolate chips

1 tsp vanilla

9 cups Golden Grahams cereal 

3 cups miniature marshmallows

1. Grease a 9" X 13" X 2" pan

2. Heat the corn syrup, butter and chocolate until boiling, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat and stir in vanilla.

3. Pour over cereal and 3 cups of marshmallows in a large bowl. Toss until coated. Press in pan with the back of a spoon or spatula (I would spray with nonstick spray) 

4. Sprinkle marshmallows on the top and occasionally press some into the mixture. 

5. Let stand for 1 hour

6. cut into squares and enjoy. 

* Store loosely covered at room temp. We suggest covering them with wax paper. They are good for about two days after, so eat em quick. We never have a problem with that however. :)

 

Best Sunless Tanner Ever!

Hey lovelies! We are so excited to be back after a short break. :) I absolutely love this time of year as the weather starts to warm up a little bit.  I'm also super pasty white from the long winter months. I refuse to use tanning beds so I'm also on the look out for good self tanners.  I've hit the jack pot with this one!

I will admit I was very hesitant to purchase this one because I've tried so many kinds and haven't found one I've loved but figured I couldn't go wrong with the price.  

Tanwise Dark Bronzing Sunless Mousse-$12.99

When I first used this it made me super nervous because the mousse was really dark. I found that it is super easy to apply and blends really well. I recommend using a tanning mitt to apply the mousse but it isn't totally necessary if you don't have one. Overall I am beyond pleased with this product and will definitely be replacing my old sunless tanners with this.

Because the it was such a good deal I also picked this up as well. It's perfect to use on the in between days for extra shimmer.

Pros:

-Very easy to apply. You don't have to rub it in as much as you do a lotion because it dries very quickly.

-Reasonably priced plus if you have a local Sally's you don't have to pay for shipping

-Gives a natural bronzed look

-Doesn't streak

Cons:

- It doesn't seem to last quite as long as other self tanners but this doesn't bother me as much because of how easy it is to apply again.

Wishlist Wednesday-Jewelry Must Haves

I love jewelry. I love to find cute, interesting pieces that I can wear with anything. 

After pinning initial after initial necklaces for months, I finally bought one here. I wear it everyday and I get so many compliments on it!

I got an Alex and Ani bracelet for Christmas and I completely fell in love with them. They are so much fun to mix and match. I love how each bracelet means something to me. I love wearing them with my gold watch too! You can find them here.

The "Lauren Conrad" Smoothie

I recently purchased a new Ninja blender so I've been pinning a ton of healthy smoothie recipes to try. Of course the "Lauren Conrad" smoothie was the first one I had to try because I'm obsessed with her. The thing that caught my eye with this particular recipe is the fact that it has oatmeal in it. I'll admit I've never thought twice about putting oatmeal in my smoothie.

The "Lauren Conrad" Smoothie

Ingredients:

• 1 c. ice
• 1 banana 
• 1/2 c. frozen raspberries or strawberries (I used 1 c. strawberries)
• 1/2 c. plain low-fat yogurt 
• 1/2 c. old fashioned rolled oats (I changed this to 1/4 c. oats)
• 1 tbsp. honey
• 1 c. coconut water or juice (I used 1% milk)

I was actually pleasantly surprised with this smoothie. I love that it is really healthy and you don't have to add a bunch of sugar to it or a fruit juice like a lot of other smoothies.  It looks like this will be one of my go to breakfast meals!

Spring Loves!

The weather has been uncharacteristically warm in Utah for the past two weeks, making me long for spring! I don't know how long the weather will last, but I'll enjoy it while it's here. This Wish List was inspired by spring!

I have been looking for a new watch, and I fell in love with this one. You can find it here. How perfect would this watch be with that outfit! 

Salt water Sandals are something that I wore as a kid. I discovered they have them in women's sizes here.

But most of all spring makes me wish for these... 

Pinterest Project.

I love pinterest! When I saw this deer, I knew I must have one for myself. The person who pinned it thought it would be great for the holidays, however I think it's great for any time of the year. 

To start I bought a 9X12 canvas, modge podge, and of course gold glitter. 

I searched online for a deer stencil that I liked, and I found one here. 

I lightly traced that stencil on the canvas with a pencil. 

Then I took a foam brush and painted a section at a time and poured glitter on it. After letting it sit for a minute I gently tapped the excess glitter off and fixed any holes.

Once I finished the glitter, I sprayed the canvas with a clear varnish to keep the glitter from falling off the canvas.

Fitness Wish List!

This is pretty rare for me because I typically hate anything to do with exercise but I bought a new workout program called the 21 Day Fix.  I love that I can do it from home and it only takes a few minutes out of my busy day.  Since I'm on a fitness kick lately I thought I would share some of my work out clothes/gear that are on my wish list!

I'm dying over these custom Nikes from Glitter Fix. Aren't these gorgeous!?!?! 

Forever 21 surprisingly has some awesome deals on active wear. I have these workout leggings in gray and aqua but would love this pair as well.

I love this Nike sweat shirt that can be found here. It would go nicely with the custom shoes. 

This reflective trim running top can also be found at Forever 21. This would be perfect to slip on during those cool nights. Plus it's only $15.80 which is a huge bonus!

I love the colors in this tank top found here. This would be perfect if you are exercising outside or even during a work out video at home. 

I guess I better go do my 21 Day Fix video of the day now that I've been talking all about active wear!

Tasty Tuesday- Peanut Butter Protein Balls

If you like peanut butter, you're in for a treat! I will be the first to admit when I tried this recipe I was a little skeptical, but these are one of my new favorite healthy snacks! I have a hard time stopping at just two of them.

Ingredients: 
1/3 cup natural peanut butter (I use Jif natural peanut butter)
1/4 cup honey
1 scoop chocolate whey protein powder
3 tablespoons ground flaxseed (can be found in health food section @Harmons or Smiths)
3 tablespoons dark chocolate chips. 

Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl and roll into ten balls (about a tablespoon each)
Refrigerate over night to firm up. Enjoy! 

Makes 10 balls. 

For all my wavy haired girls.

Any one else out there have wavy hair like me? My hair isn't straight enough to not to use a straightener, but it isn't crazy curly either. It's just pretty wavy. It needs a product to help the waves stay, but I don't love the crunchy look that comes with gel. 

Then I found this sea salt spray at Urban Outfitters, but it can be purchased at Target or stores like that for around five dollars!

I spray a little in my hair right when I get out of the shower and scrunch my hair, and let it air dry. I LOVE it. It smells great, and it helps my hair hold it's waves, and it gives me those beachy waves that I love.

 This has quickly become one of my go to products and I wear my hair wavy much more than I ever have before!

52 Week Money Saving Challenge

I know this is a little late in the game posting this on the blog but it really is never too late to get started with this challenge.  I posted this on our Facebook page and had a great response. One fan suggested that you could start at the very bottom since it is more difficult to come up with the money as it gets closer to Christmas. I thought this was a great idea!

I absolutely love how simple this idea is yet it will help you to save a large amount of money to go towards something you've been saving up for at the end of the year. I'm going to personally use the money I save with this challenge to go towards a family vacation.

We are so excited to start something new that we will do every Friday on the good old blog! I was very fortunate when I started my business to have blogs feature my shop. I loved being recognized and it also gave my business exposure to many new followers.  I always wanted to pay it forward somehow and I'm so excited to share some hand picked shops with you that I adore each Friday.

Today’s recipe is easy, healthy, and delicious, what more could you want!?

Ingredients:

1 cup skim milk (or almond milk)
Calories: 100                              

2 TBSP PB2 powdered peanut butter (can be found in the health food section, or by the regular peanut butter)  
Calories:45                         

1 scoop chocolate whey protein 
Calories: 113                                 

Total calories: 258. 

put all items in a blender and add ice. Blend till smooth. enjoy

An Amazing Opportunity!
